Cover Story Media®, Inc. is an online publishing company with multiple consumer-driven, web-based brands specializing in original content in unique interest areas. Our websites are viewed as established resources that help millions of visitors each month find the solutions they seek. Readers are also invited to interact and share their experiences in our web communities via discussion forums, blog comments, social media, e-mail newsletters, and more.
We pride ourselves on our management team being 100% U.S.-based, and our content is written by experienced U.S.-based writers, researchers, and industry professionals.
We focus on creating original quality content and pay more attention to what our readers want than what the search engines think our readers want. We center on engaging visitors for the long haul by helping them learn more about topics of interest, introducing them to related topics, and turning them into loyal readers.
Our Mission: To deliver information and create online communities based on real research and personal experience. To improve our reader’s ability to make better, more educated decisions.
Why: The internet is filled with information, but much of it isn’t accurate, relevant, or actionable. Real humans run our brands with a genuine interest and passion in the topics we cover. We test products and services we review and use them daily. We spend dozens to hundreds of hours researching each article, and our work has only begun when the piece goes live. We engage with our communities and keep our content up-to-date and accurate.
History
Cover Story Media®, Inc. is a North Carolina corporation registered in Winston-Salem, NC. The company was initially founded in 2005 as a web development business (Contract Web Development, Inc.). Still, the expansion into search marketing in 2007 prompted the launching of a series of company-owned and operated community websites. These sites started to amass traffic, and by 2009, the online publishing business’s growth had surpassed the web development portion. The explosive growth continued, and in 2012, the web development branch of the business was phased out to allow for full focus on online publishing.
2013 the business expanded further by acquiring a P&C insurance license in all 50 states, including DC. As a licensed insurance agency, we can cover and promote insurance products and relay the facts in layman’s terms for an incredibly confusing industry.
We have sold some of our brands, and others have merged. We only keep brands running that we know we can put enough resources behind to maintain the quality our readers deserve.
